Jeff Bezos offers approximately $2 billion of Amazon shares By Reuters

( Reuters) – Amazon.com (NASDAQ:-RRB- creator Jeff Bezos offered around 12 million shares of the online retail and cloud services company for approximately $2 billion, according to a business filing on Friday, right after setting out a strategy to offer his shares over the next year.

The sale occurred on Wednesday and Thursday, the filings revealed.

Recently, Amazon stated that Bezos would offer up to 50 million shares in the company.

The sale strategy, which undergoes specific conditions, was embraced on Nov. 8, 2023, and would be finished by Jan. 31, 2025, according to the business’s newest yearly report.

Bezos, who stepped down as the business’s president and took control of as executive chairman in 2021, established Amazon as a bookseller in 1994.

He is presently the world’s 2nd wealthiest individual with a net worth of $200 billion, according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
