iPhone 2022 will have a 'potential' camera

Apple's iPhone is unlikely to be equipped with a camera with "potential" zoom lenses like the Galaxy S20 until 2022.

According to TF Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo, who has made a lot of accurate predictions about Apple's unreleased devices, the prospective camera modules of the iPhone 2022 are manufactured by Semco. The Korean company now offers autofocus motors for upcoming iPhone 12 models. Partners like Sunny Optical, Largean, Alps and Minebea will be sub-manufacturers.

Prospective camera lenses are rated as the future of photography on smartphones. Instead of being vertical and limited in focus, the lenses are lined up horizontally. At the end of the lens will be a prism that can recognize images. This design allows the camera to have a larger optical zoom.

Currently, Huawei P30 Pro, Oppo Reno 10x, Galaxy S20 Ultra or upcoming Galaxy Note20 Ultra use a camera with this type of lens.

In 2016, the iPhone 7 Plus was Apple's first smartphone equipped with a telephoto camera. However, this lens only allows 2x optical zoom, as well as for measuring depth in portraits. Meanwhile, other rivals all support 5x optical zoom, even 10x like Huawei's P40 Pro Plus.

The Verge predicts that, if switched to a potential design, the camera on the iPhone 2022 can provide 5x optical zoom. However, it is not excluded that Apple will increase this parameter to a higher level.

Meanwhile, Tomsguide thinks that it will take two more years for Apple to equip the iPhone with a prospective camera. Next month, the Korean electronics firm will launch the Galaxy Note20 with a promising camera like the Galaxy S20, allowing 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom but 50x digital zoom, instead of 100x as "elder".

Some recent rumors suggest Apple will release four new iPhones in 2020. The two "Pro" versions of the iPhone 12 will still have a triple-lens camera, but with the addition of a 3D LiDAR sensor to measure image depth as well. serve augmented reality experiences. It runs on A14 Bionic chip, supports 5G, 120 Hz OLED screen ...
