AI is evolving to be as smart as humans

AI is gradually walking into life and will someday realize the dream of machines capable of thinking like humans.

The ultimate goal of developing and improving the learning ability of machines and AI algorithms to this day is still recreating intelligence from the human brain. An ideal artificial intelligence can take over the world around people through typical "sensory inputs," and take advantage of the processing power and memory of supercomputing systems. Artificial intelligence is capable of deep learning, can interpret patterns, and from there draw conclusions. Basically, they are learning to imitate people in accepting the world around them.

To fully understand artificial intelligence as a cognitive protocol, it is necessary first to understand the structure and operation of the human brain - the ultimate goal that AI aims for.

The human brain through the perspective of the computer

The human brain is basically the most powerful supercomputer in the world, except that it is made of organic materials instead of artificial ones like machines. There, the brain must process perceptual information, focusing on recognizing the world around the senses, including taste, touch, hearing, sight, smell. The left brain, on the other hand, processes logical information.

Sensory provides information patterns to the right brain, then the data continues to be transferred to the left brain to process and finally make decisions. In a sense, humans have two processors in their heads working at the same time, creating a "machine" that works both on reason and on emotion.

It is human intelligence and how humans define an intelligent thing that limits the way we perceive the world. For artificial intelligence to truly succeed, that is, to be as complete as possible, it must first be recognized by humans as intelligent.

It's possible to explain the limitations that humans impose on AI in a simple way: Artificial intelligence is programmed to make decisions based on certain conditions. Computer learning is based on "If ... then ... do this" algorithms.

However, the decision-making process from the human brain depends on emotions. Emotional intelligence is an important part of general intelligence. It is the ability to identify situations, understand the moods and reactions of the people around them. In order for AI to evolve and achieve these, they must be able to receive and process sensory and emotional data.

Integrating emotional intelligence into modern AI

Most AI systems are currently built on deep learning algorithms. The process takes place in a hierarchical manner: algorithms help computer software reach thousands of examples, from which AI must learn to solve problems on its own. Deep learning technology aims to make the computer intelligent.

After any deep learning period, the AI can receive familiar input or similar to what it is taught to make its own decisions. Thanks to traditional deep learning technology, the AI mind map is formed based on mimicking how the right human brain works. It is all based on the perception of information that comes from the senses, with AI being the "inputs".

Deep learning technology helps computers to solve problems themselves through identifying the circumstances, not merely solving the "If ... then ..." problem. Of course, in the current situation, AI cannot be trained to identify complex situations, for example, to detect who has feelings for whom. Instead, it aims to be aware of basic emotional problems, such as the front is a black cat, a black bag or the night sky ...

Currently, new deep learning technology is only focusing on developing in one direction, but over time, AI will be "trained" to be aware of many different fields and subjects. This is like a child being able to distinguish colors and numbers at the same time. If you look broadly, as your computer's processing power grows, like thanks to applied quantum computing technology, it is possible for AI to recognize more like humans.

AI development opportunity

Advanced AI technology will continue to solve problems related to sample processing and understand the world around people. Through this, computers create more complex information processing models. Na, AI from a toddler will gradually develop into adolescents, graduate from college, maybe even a doctorate. The era of AI "boys" becoming "bachelors" can be a near future.
